Frequently Asked Questions
Not sure where to start with your digital marketing? These are the questions that usually come up.
Why am I not getting enquiries?
You might have a website, you're posting on social media, sending emails , maybe even dancing on TikTok. But if it's not obvious what you do, who it's for, and what someone should do next, people leave without taking action.
Where should I even start with my marketing?
This is where most people get stuck.
There's so much out there to think about., social media, SEO, Google Business Profile, email, ads, blogs, and plenty more. It's hard to know what's right for you and where you're at.
Taking a step back and looking at what you're doing, you might find it's not about doing more. It's getting clear on what you offer, who it's for, and how someone finds and understands you.
Once you've sorted that, it's much easier to decide what's worth your time and what's not.
Is my website the problem?
Sometimes, but not always.
You might have the prettiest website around, but if someone lands on it and can't quickly work out what you do, who it's for, or what to do next, they're not sticking round.
Other times, the issue isn't the website itself, it's how everything connects. Someone might find you on Google, AI search like ChatGPT, or social media, click through, and still feel unsure.
A good website makes things easy to understand in the first few seconds, and gives someone a clear next step.
I hate social media, do I need to be on it?
Sorry to say this, but yes. The good news is you don't need to be everywhere or posting all the time.
Social media helps people find you, but it also helps build trust. If someone looks you up and sees you’re active and current, it gives them confidence you’re legit and still in business.
That said, just posting for the sake of it isn’t going to do much. If the content doesn’t sound like you, doesn’t make sense, or doesn’t connect back to what you actually offer, people will scroll straight past it, or not take it seriously.
How long does it take to see results?
To be honest it's a bit like saying "how long is a piece of string". It depends on what you're starting with.
If you’ve got a website and content that just need improving, changes can make a difference sooner. If you’re starting from scratch or need to rework things properly, it will take longer.
Some things, like improving your website or messaging, can have an immediate impact. Others, like SEO, take time.
Why am I not showing up on Google?
There could be a few reasons.
You might not have much of a presence there yet, or what’s showing up isn’t clear or up to date.
Google looks at things like your website, your Google Business Profile, and how active and relevant your business appears. If those aren’t set up properly or aren’t saying the right things, it’s harder to show up.
The other side of it is what people are actually searching for. If your website and content don’t match that, you’re less likely to be found.
The same thinking applies to AI search as well. It’s still pulling from what’s already out there, so if your information isn’t clear or consistent, you’re less likely to show up there too.
It’s not just about being on Google, it’s about being found for the right things
Do I need to update my website?
Maybe.
It's not always about starting again, it's whether your website is doing its job.
You might read it and it makes sense to you, but if someone lands on it and has to work it out, they'll leave.
Your website isn't something you set and forget. And just having one doesn't mean you'll be found.
That’s where everything else comes in, how people find you, what they see, and whether it all makes sense.
Sometimes it does need a bigger update, especially if your business has changed. Other times, it’s about fixing what’s already there so it actually works.
What if I don't have a website?
It does make things harder but it doesn't need to be your first priority.
Just keep in mind you do need somewhere people can go to understand what you do and take the next step. Without that, it's much harder for someone to find you and feel confident reaching out.
Most people I work with already have something in place, but if you don’t, we can look at what makes the most sense to start with.
What does working together actually look like?
It depends on what you need.
Some people want a clear direction on what to change and where to focus. Others want hands-on help with their website, content, or ongoing marketing.
We start by looking at what you’ve already got, what’s working, what’s not, and what’s likely to make the biggest difference.
From there, we decide the best way forward. Sometimes that starts with a one-off session, other times it’s more hands-on support.
